Building

✦

This website

Building and iterating on my personal site in real time using Cursor and HTML/CSS. Every time I learn something new I try to apply it here first.

✦

Client websites

Working on websites for people in my network. Right now that's my first completed project — a coaching site for Matt Ryan. Looking for the next one.

✦

A project I haven't named yet

I have an idea for something I want to build but I'm still figuring out the shape of it. More on this when it's real enough to talk about.

Learning

01

Cursor & AI-assisted coding

My cousin introduced me to Cursor and it completely changed how I think about building things. I'm learning how to use it well — not just as a shortcut, but as a tool for understanding code.

02

How the front end connects to the back end

I've got HTML and CSS down. Now I'm starting to understand what actually happens when you hit submit on a form, what a server does, and how databases fit in.

03

Design principles

Typography, spacing, color — the things that make a site feel intentional vs. generic. I'm learning to see the difference and name what I'm looking at.

Thinking about

I started this whole thing less than a month ago with genuinely zero experience. And now I have a live website I built myself, a completed client project, and a blog I'm actually updating.

It still feels new, but that's what I like about it. I'm figuring it out as I go, and that's the fun part.

Inspired by

↗

People who share their process

I like following people who show both what worked and what didn't. It's more useful than polished highlight reels.

↗

Simple, personal websites

Clean layouts, strong type, and enough personality to feel human. That's the style I'm trying to get better at.

↗

Starting before I feel ready

Most of what I've learned came from making things, not waiting until I had everything figured out first.
